HOW MANY PEOPLE DIE, EACH YEAR, BECAUSE OF MISTAKES?

Studies by the National Acadamy of Sciences Institute of Medicine show that between 44,000 and 90,000 people die each year.  This can happen because of mistakes made by First Responders, Medical Professionals  and others who do not know of any medical conditions or history of the person being treated.  Many mistakes could have been avoided if the person was wearing some form of medical id showing conditions and history.

HOW CAN YOU KEEP YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS WITH YOU, IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY

HOW CAN YOU KEEP YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS WITH YOU, IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY?

The solution is to use “computer friendly” Medical ID jewelry from Medical Bracelets Online. The jewelry features a USB flash drive capable of holding all your medical records.

USB Medical ID Jewelry is capable of storing up to 2 gigabytes of information. We also have other ID jewelry, which can store up to 4 gigabytes of information. It is possible to have the medical id symbol engraved on the 4-gigabyte jewelry. If you wish, you can store pictures and/or other information on the drive.

First responders are instructed to look for Medical ID jewelry when they respond to a medical emergency. If you are unable to speak with them they will still be able to obtain necessary critical medical information by plugging the drive into a USB port in the computer or terminal they have with them. The chances of them making a medical mistake will be almost zero.

You can greatly reduce the possibility of a drug interaction by storing your prescription information on the drive. You will also be able to print medical information, for your doctor, when you have an appointment.

There are many other uses for the USB drive, such as X-RAY, MRI and EKG images and reports. You can keep copies of important papers and photographs on the drive.

Alzheimers Facts and Figures

Did you know that according to a abstract of  US data on Alzheimer’s Disease Facts & Figures that:

  • 5.3 Million people have Alzheimer’s disease
  • Health care costs triple for persons over 65 years old
  • It is the seventh leading cause of death
  • Direct and indirect health care costs are greater than $148 billion/year
  • There is a new case diagnosed every 70 seconds

One of the problems individuals, with Alzheimer’s have is wandering.  How many times have you read or seen stories about those with Alzheimer’s wandering with any visible form of identification.  Visible forms of identification may be in the form of Medical Id Jewelry.  This will enable anyone, including searcher, to identify and inform loved ones the person has been found.

A large selection of fine Medical ID Jewelry, identifying Alzheimer’s suffers, may be found at medical bracelets online

HOW TO FIND A WANDERER OR MISSING PERSON

Make sure the person is actually missing by speaking with friends, relatives and anyone else you canthink of know that the person might be missing. By speaking with these people you might get a clue to where this person was and what time it was that they saw the person. This could help narrow the search. If  it was determined that the person was missing fill out a missing person form with the police.

You could also create a search party. The search party should have members of the family and friends. This party wouuld be split into groups of two members each.  They would then search the possible location of the person who is missing.

Those who are notified should be made aware of any medical conditions the person has.  A good way to insure that any medical conditions present, such as Alzheimers Desease or Diabetes, would be known, would be for that person to have a form of Medical ID Jewelry, such as a bracelet or a Computer Friendly Medical ID.

Keeping Your Kids Protected

If your child has special health concerns, it can be scary to send them off to school and other activities with their friends. Even something as simple as allergies can potentially have life threatening consequences. Because of this, it’s crucial to provide the school, camps, sports teams and other parents with any pertinent information pertaining to conditions your child may have.

You should keep a list of any conditions and disorders, including prescribed medications, on file to give to these aforementioned people. There are occasions, however, when this information may not be readily available, which is why a kids medical ID bracelet is so important. The bracelet contains critical information concerning any conditions your child may have, as well as the proper course of treatment. And since it’s on their person, you know the bracelet will always be easily accessible.
